May 21, 2021 – Sri Lankans have been hit hard by the Covid pandemic and the overwhelming of the hospital system. Recurring curfews and lock-downs have affected every part of life from business and trade to tourism and education. In response the government has called upon all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the country to step in to address the lack of oxygen machines.
ECLOF Sri Lanka has responded to this call by purchasing and donating a High Flow Nasal Oxygen Machine. The donation was funded from ECLOF’s community development fund.
On May 20, the Chairperson and the CEO of ECLOF Sri Lanka handed over the machine to the Minister of Health. The machine will be used in a local community hospital to ease the breathing of Covid patients with severe symptoms.
