The Vanithabhimana award celebrates outstanding achievements of Sri Lankan women in various areas like entrepreneurship, finance, public administration and sports. Its goal is to encourage more women to participate and excel in the national economy and society in Sri Lanka.
ECLOF Sri Lanka Board Director Buddhi Pathiraja, in her day job a Director at BDO Consulting, won the 2023 award in the category Finance Management.
From over 2000 applications, the winners were selected by an expert panel from each field and had to undergo scrutiny of their contributions to society and their professional achievements. Finally, they were interviewed on national television before the winners were chosen. Link
Buddhi Pathiraja was awarded for pioneering work in uplifting her profession: by sharing knowledge via the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT SL), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA SL Chapter) and AAT SL Toastmasters Club. As a Director at ECLOF Lanka, Buddhi has inspired and trained staff in finance.
